Swatch Palate Problem Cant Find Help ANYWHERE

I'm working in InDesign, and my whole swatch palate is grayed out. I've tried exporting as an .inx. I can delete swatches going through the options menu, and I can create new swatches but I cannot select a swatch. HELP!!!!

If you create a new InDesign document, do you get the same result? If so, you may need to delete your InDesign preferences which are likely located in Hard Drive > Users > your home > Library > Preferences > Adobe InDesign. Try moving the whole Adobe InDesign folder from your Preferences to your Desktop then restart InDesign and see what happens. If that doesn't solve it, put the Adobe InDesign prefs folder back into your Preferences folder and check to make sure that InDesign is fully up-to-date. If it's up-to-date, perhaps you need to reinstall it (but that would be rather rare).
