Here is my problem: Dreamweaver does everything I need but but so much more than I ever need for my simple website and the program is very complex. Then I tried iWeb but it is too inflexible and it has one other flaw: It cannot import an existing website. I like Taco HTML edit but it does only edit simgle pages and it does not show the whole site. Can anyone recommend a program just like dreamweaver except much much less complex? It needs to have ftp built in so I can easily update pricing on my site and it needs to show a diagramm (tree) of the whole site. It would be great if it could import my existing site but no big deal if it cannot. The main emphasis is on easy updating. What I really want is a web browser that let's me select text and edit it and save it and that's it. my site is updated! Any suggestions are very much appreciated. Thank you. Kent

I know this will not answer your question entirely, but, iWeb does import pages from your site. I don't know the degree of complexity of the pages you have but I can click and drag a HTML file to a blank template in iWeb.
Also, have you consider using a database like FileMaker Pro to do your pages on since it sounds like you have some sort of online store/catalog?

Try Freeway Express - it's fairly powerful yet much more straightforward to use than Dreamweaver. has wysiwyg interface which looks a bit like popular dtp programs such as quark. Can handle e-commerce (although i don't know much about this - how well it does it)

I've been using Dreamweaver exclusively for the past 7 years. For grabbing sites I use an app called SiteSucker. I currently recommend Mozilla Composer to teachers, it has the simple editing concept you seek. It's an easy to use Browser/Editor wysiwyg editor.

Also, you may want to check out Nvu, which is built on Mozilla Composer. Be wary of the code reformatting settings (as in Composer) if you like to edit your own HTML, but it's a user friendly wysiwyg.
It has nice publishing tools, but not the same site file tree as Dreamweaver. But, on the other hand, it's free.
