I have 2 iTunes libraries - one on my desktop and one on my laptop. Is there a simple way to sync the two? I looked for software but found none. Please help if you know how.
Using Mac OS 10.4.7 and iTunes 7.01 on both.

Take a look at icdc ($15 shareware):
web page
It does a lot of interesting tings with the "CD Info.cidb" data
base. That's where iTunes stores all its info about your stuff.
Among its other features is the ability to merge two
iTunes libraries. It even asks about potential dups as
it's merging. iTunes will merge, but you're on your
own as far as dups go.
All you need to do is copy the iTunes library (Default is
the folder "iTunes Music" in the ~/Music/iTunes" folder)
from the laptop to your desktop's HD. Then let icdc merge.
After that sorts out, just copy the whole "iTunes" folder
to your laptop.
This is enough of a bore that I expect you'll join me in
having only a single "master" iTunes library. And copying
it to other computers as needed.
This may not work with protected AAC files from ITMS. If
that's an issue, unprotect all of them. I do.
