Is there a way to burn playlists containing AAC files to a CD? I am trying to make discs for my car. My car stereo will play AAC files from a CD (at least it says it will) but iTunes will not let me rip a CD into iTunes as AAC files and then burn a playlist containing those files to a CD. I can only burn playlists containing (larger) mp3 files. Thanks.

Did you import the music as AAC files?
[You can change the preference for importing in "Advance" tab.]

Yes, I imported the CD files as AAC files. Then, when I make a playlist with those files, I cannot burn it to a CD. I can do it with mp3 files, but I like the idea of more music per disc since the AAC files are smaller. I don't want to go with just a lower bitrate mp3. Thanks.

Not sure what's causing your problem. My first CD burn as backup to my iTunes collection was as an AAC CD. Since then, I've done several. Lately, I switched to MP3 files as I can get most of my collection on 1 disk (600 plus songs). And, my truck radio can play MP3 CD's.
I'm a bit confused about your using AAC and getting more music on the disk. When I did mine, I could only put up to the disk limit in time and MB on the CD where MP3's go on forever, almost. Maybe just stick to the MP3's.

The usual iTunes options (Prefs/Advanced/Burning) are an
audio CD (AIFF format which plays on most any CD player),
MP3 format (which some players -- like our cars' don't see),
or data (which iTunes says many players can't handle).
You can try burning your AAC files in "data" format, and
see if it's what you need.

Thanks for the clarification. In my post, I said I burned CD's for backup, but, as you mention, I selected Audio CD and my iMac took my AAC files and burned them to the CD as AIFF. They play anywhere.
I've burned Data CD's too as a backup, but, they 'play' only on my Macs, which is fine as they're only backups to iTunes. As mentioned, I now burn to MP3, more songs and my truck plays them.
