Since my poor little iMac died again two weeks ago, AppleCare finally decided to give me a brand new logic board (this will be the fifth one in 3 years, no kidding), HD, and RAM. Great, so I decide to use this as an opportunity to finally upgrade to Tiger.
Got everything installed, except when I put in the CD that came with my 3rd Gen iPod, I got an error something about it can't be installed because of some networking issue. OK, no biggie, I figured iTunes would probably recognize it when I pop it in the dock.
And it did.
But, I get a message saying that the new music I just downloaded were not copied to the iPod because "I am not authorized to play them on this computer"
I'm not worried about anything like getting music off my iPod, I had a backup, but I would like to transfer stuff I download now to it.
Any ideas how to do that? Would I have to erase the whole thing and start from scratch? What's the best way to do that?
Thanks for any help!

You should be able to autorize your computer as an additional authorized machine through "Advanced" menu.

Thanks, I knew it was there somewhere - actually it wasn't in my Advanced menu (although "Deauthorize computer") was there. Apparently after I clicked play on one of the new songs I downloaded, it gave me a pop up to authorize the computer. I don't remember doing that last time! /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Hi
You'll have to re-authorize everything you get a new logic board as it looks to iTunes like a new computer.
