Apparently not. Business as usual for Kutaragi and company

How is Sony responsible for people's behavior? And what makes the 360 any less "overpriced garbage"? They look pretty similar to me.
Personally, I think it's pretty foolish for anyone to buy a console at release prices, whether from Microsoft or Sony. But that's their business, there are plenty of fools in the world.

That is just totally backwards and unfair. All of the fit day laborers can probably run a lot faster than the sedate gaming nerds can... /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Good for them. They probably deserve the money more - and the unfit nerd needs a lesson in patience (and fitness) more than he needs a new console.

Can you all imagine how different the world would be if people got as excited about global warming or world peace as they evidently do about a stupid game console??? What a world!!!

I always get a kick out of these kinds of posts. You are complaining about other people not spending their time being productive on issues you feel are important, yet you are wasting your time whining on a message board, which isn't very productive either.
And the global warming kooks wasting electricity whining on message boards is too precious! They are right behind people like the founders of Google who talk about improving the world from their private 767 jet that has a ~23,000 gallon gas tank flying to China to make a deal over censoring Chinese Google content.
What a world! /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Is it just me, or does the concept of people forming disorderly, sometimes violent mobs over a gaming console make ABSOLUTELY NO SENSE? I'm sure many of these people don't take any action whatsoever regarding social problems, world turmoil, etc., but when the latest toy comes out - BAM! Waiting in line for hours, fighting over the first spot.
Seems pretty sad to me.

I guess you weren't old enough to remember the fights that broke out over Cabbage Patch Dolls. Makes the PS3 thing seem almost normal.

Yeah, and European football games. And those wacky leftist kids destroying Seattle during the G8. And lines for toilet paper in the former Soviet Union. And lines to stone women who are raped in the Middle East.

It's cheaper. It has more games worth playing.
Of course, IMHO, both the 360 and PS3 suck, and I'm really close to skipping this generation. Bricked consoles, patches, patches before release, games that may have problems on SDTV. Sorry, no, I left computer gaming to avoid those (and more) problems, why do I want to go back?

I thought it was the same price if you got the HD-DVD expansion for the 360. The Sony comes with Blu-Ray, while the XBox only comes with a standard DVD unit. And isn't it a matter of taste which games are "worth playing"?
The only reason I bought a console was for Gran Turismo. The games on the Xbox don't appeal to me.

Saturday Night Live had the best joke about the PS3:
"A man was shot while waiting in line for the Playstation 3. Just another example of Nerd-on-Nerd Violence."
I wonder if parents even know the only benefit to a PS3 is seen only when connected to an HDTV? I think most will connect the PS3 to their standard-def TV and wonder why it looks no different than the PS2. And then wonder why they wasted $599 for it?

That's not true at all. If your logic were correct, a 10-year old game at 800 x 600 would look the same as Doom III at 800 x 600.

I think it really show what impact Games has on human behavior.
It is sad in a way to see that some human being will fight over a game console while some people in the world fight to stay alive and be able to eat.
I think it's time to open Game Addiction Centers in the US and tell these people these are only games and it is unhealthy.
PS: I used to play WoW and realized quickly what effect it had on my wife and kid.
Games are fun and I wish I could play more but it seems some people don't have much left in their brain.
Pretty amazing though, that now, when you go by the new iPhone, or iPod, you want to make sure there is not a crazy dude armed waiting in line.
Instead of being afraid of Terrorism, shouldn't we be afraid of ourselves?

The logic is correct because the benefit of the PS3 is HD-quality games at 1080p. When connected to a standard-def TV, the PS3 will output 480i, the same resolution as the PS2. So a PS3 game will look the same as a PS2 game on a standard-def TV. Read the reviews. They even comment that a PS3 is only worth buying if it can be connected to an HDTV.

Not quite. Although HD is one benefit, there is much more to conceder. The Cell Broadband Engine inside the PS3 is 40 times faster than the PS2. Blu-Ray provides access to almost 50GB of data. Even at lower resolutions you have so much more going on in more realistic ways. Anyone trying to make the point that a PS3 is ONLY worth it for HD has lost there mind. I know for a fact a PS3 is at least worth a lifetime supply of taco's. /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
