"Beta" is a label that may or may not have any real meaning as far as the final product operates. As a paying consumer, the label makes no difference to me. Why should it? The price is the same.

Support the developer? You make that statement as if the program used to be free and now he's finally going to get paid. GarageSale was always $25 or $30 for a license as far as I know.
I agree that it's a very nice tool but that has little to do with my questions.

Very odd comment you make, without any explanation or good reason so I conclude that it must only be a problem for the individual reader. My questions are 100% legitimate and 100% on-topic. These questions I shouldn't have after reading such an article. /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif
"GarageSale was available for purchase online for quite some time. How is buying a retail version going to be different for the consumer?" Now, does that re-phrasing of a simple question make you feel any better?

The product is the same as what's available from the developer's Web site -- all this means is that people who have never seen Garage Sale before will get a chance to buy it, and that those who aren't comfortable buying software over the Internet might be more inclined to put their money down.
If you already have Garage Sale, you're all set.

Thank-you. All cleared up.

The poster's question did not come accross in a bad way for me. It was the same question I was wondering.

Thanks, sparky, for the re-phrasing. It does come across better to me now. /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
