volume format?

Can OS 9 read/write to HFS+ formatted volumes from OS X?
Usage: an external backup drive used by other a G4 running OS 9.2.2 and a G5 running 10.3.9 and transferring files between them.

Yes, just make sure that if you format it in Disk Utility in OS X, you check "Install Mac OS 9 Disk Driver." Otherwise there should be no problems.
