It me again. (G5 10.39) After many attempts to get WORD to open/save/etc on all users (see a previous post) we have given up and will simply dump it from the HD and re-install it. Even Microsoft couldn't fix it. NOW we have yet another problem. All users except the administrator are having problems with other programs as well. Today it is a problem with ADDESS BOOK. We can launch it, the HD motor goes into overdrive (at least it sounds that way) but the ADDRESS BOOK window never comes up on the screen, or in the tool bar at the top of the screen. It does show that it is on and operating in the dock but like WORD, we can't get it to work and have to force quit to make the "engine" shut down. Any suggestions why we are suddenly having all these problems with users other than the administrator's which doesn't do the rest of us any good since his address book is different than ours? /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Guess what. We luckily didn't dump MS Office because we figured out the problem with "God's Help". sort of. We had a storm (actually several of them) that took out power on the island. In the process of all that, the motherboard of our G5 became toast and had to be replaced. While it was in repair we upgraded to Tiger and low and behold, our office suite works fine now. Seems that Windows upgraded our Office suite to Tiger automatically, but we hadn't installed Tiger yet so this is why MS Office wouldn't work for us. They don't tell you that at MS (even when I got a live person on the phone!) So keep this in mind if any of you have Office on a OSx 10.39 and do an upgrade on Office by itself. Expect weird things to start happening. As for us, the thing works GrrrrrrrrreeeeeEEEAAAAATE! (get it? Tiger?!)
