Hey guys, just a few questions...
Right now I have a MacBook, but am going to be purchasing an iMac in August.
The specs are this:
2.16GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
2GB 667 DDR2 SDRAM - 2x1GB
250GB Serial ATA Drive
ATI Radeon X1600/128MB VRAM
SuperDrive 8X (DVDR DL/DVDRW/CD-RW)
Final Cut Express HD preinstalled
Apple Wireless Keyboard & wireless Mighty Mouse
Mac OS X (US English)
Accessory kit
AppleCare Protection Plan for iMac - Auto-enroll
20-inch widescreen LCD
AirPort Extreme
Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR
I was wondering if I should be upgrading anything else. All it is going to be used for is making music (I record my own via Midi and real instruments) writing up school reports. My MacBook is great for those things, but I will be running into some extra cash in the summer, and really want an iMac.
Is there going to be any upgrades to iMac? Will I be okay to get one in August?

Dilly, I love my 20 Core 2 Duo machine which is same as what you want with the following exceptions:
I only have 1GB Memory
Do not have Final Cut Express
I have the old White Ethernet Airport base station
I have had no problems at all and have kept up with all the software updates. I love the wireless KB and Mouse.
I did get a Western Digital My Book 250GB Pro Edition External Hard Drive, and a backup program (Super Duper) to periodically back up my data. In fact Super Duper makes a clone of my HD that is bootable.
Any upgradesonly Steve knows for sure.
I know you will enjoy your new machine, I sure have.
