Sharper Image is selling video goggles for $349.95 plus tax and shipping. This is an exorbitant price unless like me you frequently spend 14+ hours on an airplane. And having exhausted the available video fare in Economy class (if lucky enough to be on a 777), like me you are jetlagged and desperate for diversion.
These goggles hook up to a video iPod. They http://www.sharperim...log/product/sku[/u]_WT215
allow you to view and listen to recorded media from your video iPod in stereo and large-screen display.
I'm neither a video-phile nor an audio-phile. I just like what I see and hear coming out of this gear. What is more, the Sharper Image salesman was wrong. He said I had to have better than 320x240 media resolution. That would mean that any iTunes movies and TV shows I purchased before last August could not be viewed. Not true. The goggles are fullscreen format. Widescreen shows are simply shadow-boxed. iTunes does not allow us to select movies and TV shows in our preferred format. If you buy iTunes videos, you will view them in fullscreen or widescreen via the goggles, in their original Apple-provided format.
I have found that these goggles have smashed the old $1K price barrier and afford a video experience comparable to the quality of what the Bose noise-cancelling headphones offer frequent air travelers for audio comfort and pleasure.
