In the September '06 magazine, I notice that in the "picking the perfect camcorder" write-up, I notice the sentence that said "Mac's don't currently support burning HDDVD's so you'll need to invest in an external drive". Now, technically that isn't infact true. My buddy from the apple store showed me how to burn high def footage from DVD Studio Pro onto a standard DVD and have it work on a HD DVD player. All you have to do is create a new dvd studiop pro document with the format set to HD DVD and encode the files correctly and the video should play on any regular HD DVD player. I'm not a complete pro at this, but he showed me the DVD and told me that he went to best buy and stuck it in a HD DVD player and suprised everybody. Sure, right now Mac's can't burn 25 gigs of video to a DVD for a blueray or HD DVD, but they can for sure burn HD footage to a DVD that you can watch in all it's glory on an "HD DVD" player.
