I can't access the edit mode on the photos in question. I wouldn't mind re-importing the originals, except they no longer exist and I no longer have them stored on my camera. I am a teacher and the computer I use belongs to my school. The original photos were on my previous laptop and were wiped out after they were imported to my new MacBook /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif This is why I'm trying so hard to find a solution, if it exists. Does anyone know how to contact someone in Apple that might help? I got on their website and wasn't able to find a customer service phone number.

I actually meant the originals somewhere on your hard drive. They should be there unless you accidentally or intentially threw them away. That means you have to hunt around your drive for them. If you put a finder window in column view and single click on pictures, you'll get a quick view of them.

When I searched my computer for iphoto, I found 2 iphotos in my hard drive and an iphoto in my "home." When I opened up the iphoto library it has a lot of strange things like Dir.data, iphoto.ipspot, library6.iphoto, Library.iphoto, etc which look like blank documents...when I try to open them, I get a message that says there is no default application to open them.
There is a folder called Originals. Inside are 2 folders named 2006 and 2007. Inside each of them are more folders called "Roll 86" "Roll 87", etc. Inside each Roll folder is between 1 and 10 pictures. Seems to me all the photos I imported in 2006 would be found here, but that's not the case. Anyways, looks like I need to invest more time in just figuring how iphoto works and find out how all this extra stuff gets here...plus what I can delete.
