Probably not. I have a feeling that DVI is not upstream/downstream just upstream. Same goes for ADC and every other display connector on the back of the PB. The best you can do is hook up the ethernet with some crossover cable and get the machines to network with each other (much easier said than done if you're not really sure how it all works, I only managed to get my files across by starting up the FTP server on my TiBook and then using FTP software on my PC to send the files!). If you're over that hurdle then you would be able to use VNC or something similar (www.microsoft.com/mac have something like it) and then control the PC from it's input and then have it send the display down to the TiBook. Be warned, this will have a slower refresh time than just using a monitor.

Not to mention the fact that the apple gods would immediately smite you with lightning for trying such a thing.

A little off topic (but just a little)...
Yesterday i was browsing Sony catalogue, and on some TV models they have.... DVI input. (same one as on PB). Makes you think, is is really 'one way' connector on PowerBook, or just nobody is using it to transfer video TO computer...

?

oh forgot to comment on your idea....

To put this issue to rest...

The video display outputs (VGA/DVI/Svideo) on a Powerbook are indeed just outputs - they are absolutely not designed to accept video input so that the Powerbook's LCD display can be used as a monitor to another computer.

The Sony TV is not a contradiction to this. The TV is acting like another monitor. With DVI inputs, taking the signal from a DVI output, like a PowerBook. Nuthin' strange about that. In fact it's a nice feature.

Ok, i didn't mean to use it as a monitor, rather as possibility to use DVI port as digital video in, in future, if there are (will be) any apps allowing to record video from digital sources souch as HDTV receivers.

I know it's an output port, but is it output because of the design of PowerBook, or there no apps allowing to capture video through DVI (but technically possible).

...just a thought

I have never heard of anything like this, nor do I see an application for this....if you wanna 15.2" TFT display for your pc, you can buy one.

You could buy a firewire video digitizer (is that what they're called?), which would take video input (from your Windows PC if you have a video out on your video card), digitize it in real-time, and I assume you'd be able to display the video in full screen mode on your PowerBook using video capturing software. Cheap ones cost around $100, but for better resoultion you'd probably have to spend thousands.
