This seems pretty ominous, given the purpose of the software...but when I tried to open Diskwarrior for the first time after loadng it, I get the error message: Diskwarrior encountered an unexpected error (2000, 256. What the _ does that mean?
I'm runnning OS X on a Mac Pro desktop...
Thanks in advance.

Is it version 4? Were you running from an admin account?

Assuming it is Version 4, did you boot from the Disk Warrior disc?

is version 4 making it out the door yet? (shipping)
I was under the impression they were swamped and delays were a month or more for many people.

it is version 3.0.3, which is what I was roped into buying at Chumpusa. I'm booting from the desktop, which from what I gleaned from the rather poor instructions is what I'm supposed to do.
Still doesn't work, same error message.

And there's your problem. You need Disk Warrior 4 for your Mac Pro (and any Intel Mac). I'd return the version you have and order the latest.

-Hi,
As -Chris pointed out: [DW v4 required for Intel-based Macs]

Thanks for this basic but obviously essential information.
I've passed this on, with due vehemence, to the vendor and will hopefully be seeing the correct version within a few weeks.

By "vendor" I hope you mean CompUSA. Alsoft hasn't made a secret of Disk Warrior 3's incompatibility with Intel Macs and so don't deserve your wrath.

Yes, sorry, I suppose the correct term is "resaler"...although I can think of a few more.

thanks Doug.
guess I shall buy one now.
after all, I still consider it the best DU even tho i don't have an intel yet.
it's got some sweet new features that even this old G4/5 will enjoy.

Welcome -nuke,
Yeah, seems they have played catchup pretty well with v4/Universal and I'm anxious to test drive the new features as well. I like the security blanket it offers over other HD/OS utilities.. /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Mark! It's almost like you don't read my stuff. I've had it for a while. (Works great.)
