purchasing new ipod

i'm thinking about buying the 80GB ipod but does anyone know of any announcements or additions in the next 2 months? My last ipod was purchased a month before the next release....

The only thing I would say is this...
The iPhone has an amazing new touchscreen interface. I would expect that a high-end video iPod using that interface will be out sometime in the next six months -- now that's a total guess, but since they've done all the work for the iPhone, it seems odd they wouldn't leverage it with a slightly thicker form factor with a 100GB or so hard drive in it, drop the phone and application features, and call it the new Video iPod.
