arg! sorry guys, this is my first/second post, and i had writing a lengthy description of my problems before this post, but something happen and i have to rewrite it, which im not... im just going to give you guys the skinny
i got a Macbook Pro 3 months ago
now it's running like crap, i cant even run maya anymore, cuz it runs too slow.
i have 80 gigs of memory, but i used up about 60 gigs of it somehow, when i only have about 18 gigs of apps and documents. also my virtual memory is really crappy, here are the stats on that
Wired: 159MB
Active: 230MB
Inactive: 115MB
Free: 14MB
that is my current virtual memory stats and all im running right now is Firefox, Itunes and my messagers, and it really lags going inbetween those proggys.
anyways can anyone help me out?
also what is the default resoultion setting for macbook pro? someone screwed with mine, and now it's 1440 X 900 seems wrong to me...
thankz in advance!

If you're going to be running apps like Maya, you'll want more than 1GB of RAM, which is the default amount in MacBook Pros. Double or triple your RAM; you'll be a lot happier.

1440x900 is the native resolution for the MacBook Pros . . .

Hi
A little more information would be very beneficial for us to help you...
Mac OS X Version, Processor, and Memory as indicated by About This Mac ( Located in Apple [menu] ) - Example
Version of Maya you are using
Screen size - 15.4" or 17"
Page ins/outs ( Located in /Applications/Utilities/Activity Monitor-->System Memory ) - Example
You should also go through the running processes [in Activity Monitor] and see if any are using a high percentage of CPU.
