-Hi,
My denist just bought a used MacBook G4 and transferred over the Apple Care from a friend. He said he has several appointments each week for 'one' hour being tutored by somebody in the Genuis Bar at the Apple Store. Does anybody know how that works? I'm curious to share more info with a buddy that is going to switch very soon and that would be great fuel for him. If nobody really knows I'll drive down and find out, but this is a great idea by Apple. Snooping around on Apple's site didn't show me what I wanted...or I missed it. TIA a lot..

That isn't AppleCare. AppleCare is about repairs and tech support. It sounds like they signed up your dentist for ProCare, which does allow you to use the Genius Bar as a "consultant." You also get to go to the head of the Genius Bar line instead of getting shut out if the convenient appointment times are taken. Me and my self-taught Mac friends cannot justify paying the annual fee for such a service, but I have encountered a couple of PC switchers who thought ProCare was a really great idea and worth it to them.

Thanks -M'n S,
Thats a good one to know to pass on. For super busy folks its nice to get a 'jump-start' The dentist said he loved the service. And has the very first Mac model made at home which still works. His work drove him to PC (software) back then, but he's totally Mac at home now. BTW...the iLife programs are blowin' him away and there's a good chance for me to snag that first Mac ::iHope::... /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Hi
Yeah...I saw one of those going on when I took my MacBook in. It really is a one-on-one demo of iLife apps and Mac OS X.
