Hello everybody.
I'm convincing a friend to make a switch to the Mac but I just want to make sure of ONE thing.
He wants a laptop and will probably only use Office and Mail and Safari 90% of the time. But what he needs on the PC side is to be able to run AutoCad.
So I know he can use Windows using Bootcamp ( which he likes the idea) But I have to be 100% sure he can run AutoCad in a Macbook ( NOT Macbook Pro).
Any architects out there that can share their experience..?
P.D. I know there are other good Mac CAD programs out there but he doesn't want to learn a new software right now...
I appreciate any comment.
thanks!

Macbook and Autocad?

I doubt there would be major issues with running Autocad via Bootcamp. After all, the hardware is essentially the same. You may want to check the user fora for Autocad, but it shouldn't be a problem, as long as the hardware (including video card) is up to the task. For instance, some 3-D apps such as Maya (both for PC and Mac) require high-end video capability. If Autocad does, you would probably have the same issues with a lower-end notebook PC. That is the weak link you would want to pay attention to...
