I'm a bit frustrated as I cannot use updated applications because my imac does not have Tiger or Panther. I love this computer, it works well and its still very fast, so I feel extremely cheated in having to buy a new one ($$$) to get the new Mac OS X version.
Is there a way I can load Tiger or Panther on this computer? Using an external hard drive maybe? I have all system requirements except for the Firewire.
Your comments and guidance are greatly appreciated ... and needed

Hi,
The Panther disc's should load without a problem.
The original 1Ghz iMac has firewire, why is yours different?
There are people who have installed Tiger on non-firewire computers, if you are interested.

Thanks for the reply, I will check out that option.
I bought my imac in 2003 I think in September, Firewire and airport/bluetooth were options, but I didn't see the point then.. to spend an extra $200 or so..... I didn't know it was going to be so important /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif
Again thanks for comments!
