I also bought FC Express 2 when they had a deal like this and then it went away. It has come back but hasn't been around that long. It's mostly a hunch based off age of last update, timing of the April show, and the fact that I want to buy now and if I do that, everything will be updated less than an hour later because that's my luck.
Also I believe CS3 is coming out at the end of March and if I were Adobe, I would want to intro it with the new Mac Pro. Two things we have all been waiting for. Kinda like the Reeses peanut butter and chocolate theory. They make the perfect combination.
Note: This is only my opinion.

I wonder if Adobe will be bringing out CS3 at that time too. I mean, CS3 isn't directly related to video production, but it's still a big event so who knows?

If not CS3, there will definitely be at least demos if not a shipping date announcement for Adobe's Production Studio with Premiere Pro, which of course IS their video editing software that they are re-visiting for the Macintosh, although of course only the Intel models.
From Adobe's website: "Film, video and web professionals currently using Adobe After Effects, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator on the Mac will soon be able to harness the power of completely new Macintosh releases of Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe Encore DVD and Adobe Soundbooth -- all key components of an upcoming milestone revision to Adobe Production Studio"

Sony has blue ray dvd writer in a laptop.
Apple needs to catch up with imovie/idvd so that we can archive home movie as blue ray dvd /hd as well.

Yup. Apple could easily offer burners from HD DVD or Blu-ray in future Macbook Pros. I'm eyeballing the Canon HV20 HDV camcorder. Newegg sells blank 15GB HD DVD media for $8.99. Hell you can burn HD content to DVD discs but you'll have about 45-60 minutes of good video.
Now is the time for the HD Revolution. Steve Jobs was a year off.

This IS what's going to happen.
End of March:
1. New 10.5
2. Update to Mac Pro's (need 10.5 ready in order to intro Pro's)
3. New Display's including a 36" with iSight built in.
April 15th:
1. New FC Express (on sale now until 3/27/07)
2. New FC Pro (Big bro goes where little bro goes)
3. Intro to new Mac Book Pro's with new screens.
4. Mention of Mac Book Mini
The only thing I don't know is how to convince my wife that I NEED a new Mac. /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

You are expecting a lot within a two week time frame.
As for Leopard, I'm guessing that it will come about 60 days after 10.4.9 is released as Apple have been purposely moving extremely slow to release this final update of Tiger.

This is the age of more is less they'll go to 10.4.9.1.1.5 and higher before we see 10.5, not as long as Vista for 10.5 but a lot longer than we'd want.

If that were true, I'd think that there wouldn't be a 6 month gap between 10.4.8 and 10.4.9.

Here's what PC Mag has to say from their "sources":
Apple Goes to Hollywood
1. Hardware Accelerated FC "Extreme" for $10-$30k
2. 30-inch Cinema Display, including possible support for 4K+ resolutions
3. Bumping the display on the 17-inch MacBook Pro to a 1920x1080 resolution, allowing for native HD editing (Crap Crap Crap...just bought my new 17" MB Pro...my timing on this stuff always stinks by just a few months)
