MY SENTIMENTS EXACTLY!!!!! Well posted!
We needed these 8-core Macs 2 months ago but will continue to hold out until they are released! Apple, please let it be next week. /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Dear Apple, Inc:
I realize you probably have some inventory of old, washed up dual dual-cores. I'm sure you'd like to keep the release date of the dual quad-core a secret. That way you can unload premium-priced end-of-life machinery on unsuspecting impulse buyers.
However, be aware that most pro's who will buy your high end stuff are well-equipped, and well-schooled in your ways. We are prepared to hold out as long as we need to for your 8-core machines.
Please don't think we're going to buy old stock when we even THINK there's a hint of imminent release of an 8-core Mac Pro.
Give it up, Apple!! Let us have it NOW!!!!!
Sincerely
A Rabid, Insane, Long-time Apple Customer /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

1. New FC Express (on sale now until 3/27/07)

I'm not too optimistic about FCE receiving any updates... especially with Adobe prepping Premiere Pro for reentry into the Mac market. I think Apple may be ready to cede the midlevel video sector to Adobe while they continue to focus on the pro apps and iLife. Having purchased FCE 1.0 and 2.0, but not 3.x, I've had doubts about the program's future for a while now. Time will tell whether FCE has life left in it or not. If my suspicions are correct, I hope Apple offers a sweet deal for FCE owners to upgrade to FCS. Sony Vegas is looking pretty attractive these days (under Boot Camp).

Why would Apple want to give people another reason not to buy an expensive G5 or to use a mediocre OS? Microsoft can't even get windows software to work with Vista.
One of the geeks I know installed Vista only to return it and to pine for ME... (he's one of those ``I spend no money/do it myself'' geeks).
You know the type with Frankenstein PCs... wires everywhere... peripherals from 1893.... runs on lightning... :-)
