album artwork not downloaded by iTunes

I imported a bunch of CDs to MP3 several years ago before I switched to Mac and started using iTunes. I have now moved my music into the program and really like the album art coverflow feature, but iTunes fails to download several album covers even though the CD tracks are offered through the iTunes store. Other artwork available online has lower resolution, and it would be nice if there was a way to grab the iTunes cover art and force it into the program. Is there a way to do that?

Why would Apple give you a freebie?
