Does Google have a mobile phone in the works?

Hopefully they can use their clout to make the phone companies reduce the cost of mobile web and email. I am in Europe for work and most people have smart phones because the price is reasonable. Maybe Google and Apple could team up on Cingular and get the price down in the service. Phone companies seem to be on a never ending spiral upwards with their prices.

Or perhaps free radio based Internet from anywhere and Voip instead of cell? An entirely new product? This seems as or more likely than a phone, from what little info was given.

If you see the Apple's iPhone images, you can see a very un-Steve-Jobs detail: there
are 11 aplications arranged 3x4... with a non-elegant missing one at the lower right!
So, maybe, GoogleVoIP can sit there!!!

Actually, there is a very good reason for that void. (Not VoIP) /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
Maybe Steve is left-handed, and his thumb obscured that spot when he was holding the iPhone, so it was intentionally left blank. /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
