Want to find all your iTunes' tracks that don’t belong to a playlist? Here are a couple of techniques. [more]

Thanks! I've wondered about doing the same thing. Not for the purposes of deleting files, but for FINALLY filing all those random tracks that don't have a "home" in a playlist yet. Kinda lazy about that...

Or... why even bother putting it in iTunes... if a friend sends you an MP3 or something, control click it to begin with and open in Quicktime... if you don't want it, it's done when you close it. Much easier than sorting and corrupting iTunes with a bunch of unwanted unlabeled stuff...
I am anal about music info in my songs... I want artist, album, year, etc in all my song info, so if someone sends me something without that info, i dont want it in my library to begin with, so i open with quicktime.

As time goes on and since I got my video iPod, I have accumulated a growing collection of porn and other material I do not want people to know that I have...
Is there a way to hide tracks or playlists in iTunes? One neat feature would be to be able to password protect certain playlists so inappropriate content be viewed by just anyone on the machine.

Is there a way to delete songs from a Smart Playlist (so they disappear from the Library as well)? I'm trying to use this Playlist technique but am getting sick of going from the playlist to the main Library every few seconds.
I'm running a PC, BTW.

Select the track in the Smart Playlist and then press CommandOptionDelete.

Man, Apple ought to make this more obvious--although it is in "Keyboard Shortcuts" in the iTunes "Help" menu. I wish I had a dollar for everytime someone emailed me about how to do this.

D'oh! Sorry, I should read more carefully. I don't have my Windows machine up and running right now. However, the corresponding Windows shortcut should be listed in the shortcuts section of iTunes Help.
