Wow. I don't even know how to respond to that one. Denial is such a powerful condition.

Whenever Ballmer speaks of his competition he comes off as a sore loser. So what if the YouTube is semi-related to search. The Xbox is semi-related to other areas at Microsoft. We call that integration.
Ballmer will be smiling less when Google pulls-off making billions from YouTube. /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

It seems to me that Google is doing something similar to MS early days. Do not make a lot of money on each item, but sell to everyone.
Google gives away search to the masses, then bills advertisers. This is a very solid business. We see a similar model everytime we watch broadcast TV. Is Ballmer forgeting that his mighty boss also wants to control TV for the revenue stream?

Haaaaaaaaaaaaa haaaaaaaa haaaaaaa haaaaaa haaaaaaa haaaaaa!
This is the best laugh I've had all week. Superman isn't the only one who makes trips to the Bizarro World.

Ballmer knows that Google is kicking there butt right now so he has to throw up these rediculous excuses like he knows something. But the reality is, Google is kicking there butt and Ballmer and Gates are scared!
Anyone with a brain knows Google is doing quite well with stock being at $450 a share or above versus Microsofts measely what maybe $40 if there lucky a share. Google's got the drive and they are moving forward, while Microsoft is drowning with no real forward plan. Apple is doing the same to Microsoft as well with great forward looking products and it shows big time. Ballmer and Gates are hating every minute as there company looks worse and worse everyday. Vista did not not turn out to be the killer OS at all and people know it and no ones buying it!

Wow, I have to believe that this article took Balmer's comments out of context.
Microsoft's successes historically have been built on the works of others -- copying of others' software, raiding small companies and taking their key employees, buying innovative companies and then making them (and their innovation) dissappear, etc. And, no, I'm not trying to Microsoft bash.
Microsoft is one of the best when it comes to the aforementioned tactics. They've built an empire that few others have been able to copy. It's really pretty amazing when you think about it. Microsoft has been able to build a huge empire, much of it with mediocore software, and all with out much innovation. That's where they are innovative, and they should be proud of it because, as hard as others have tried, no one has been able to copy Microsoft's business model.

What I don't believe it!
Ol' Balmey himself missed an opportunity to mention the Zune and the much hyped 1 million units sold by June (he he he).
Did he just forget to mention Microsoft's forray into the Music Player business, or is monkey boy really ashamed of their showing in this business space? Gasp, you mean Microsoft's monopoly doesn't even give them the ability to crush the second player in this space (Sandisk), much less Apple!
