My gf is having problems accessing yahoo and other sites due to " no secure connection " The only thing she said is she installed an update a few weeks ago when this started happening. I read someone else was having problems with this. She said she reset Safari and emptied the cache-what is that? She said it still didn't work-but what good is it to reset and empty the cache? How could it help and how do you do it?

"Resetting Safari erases your browsing history, empties the cache, clears the Downloads window, and removes cookies. It also removes any saved names and passwords or other AutoFill text and clears Google search entries."
That's what the popup window says when you attempt to reset Safari (Safari>Reset Safari...). From what I know, cleaning the browsing history and cleaning the cache will just make a previously visited page open faster (it stores some of the web code so it wouldn't have to download it during a second visit). It also frees up some space. It also clears the Downloads window and removes Cookies (think cookies are used to track your computer). For safety it also removes the saved names, passwords, and autofill.
Just keeps Safari fresh. I had used Window Washer when using my PC, but resetting Safari has become second nature before shutting it down for me.
