I just received my iMac (Intel) three days ago. Been getting accustom to it (my 1st Mac) and playing around which included installing Vista via Boot Camp. I downloaded the 10.4.9 update and when I run the install via MacOSXUpd10.4.9intel.pkg it tells me that "Installing this software requires 441MB of space". Yet it shows me that I have 320GB free.
Ummm, okay... I'm confused.

Okay, I think I found the real problem. I have 10.4.7 so I need the Combo Update. The one I downloaded is for upgrading from 10.4.8. I wish the error message would have been more accurate. It'll take forever to download the 310MB update on my slow iDSL (144Kbs). Time to head into the city to download.

-Hi,
Thats one of the drawbacks w/ such large updates, which seem to be getting even larger as time goes on. I know a handful of folks that will go to their local Mac dealers and DL the large updates and burn them. Just take a blank CD/DVD with you.
Here is the [OSX 10.4.8 update (intel)]
