Got my download of Photoshop CS3, won't install because I can't get the beta off. Anybody with similar troubles?

In your Utilities folder (Application/Utilities), there should be a folder called Adobe Installer - in there you'll find something called "Add or Remove Adobe Photoshop CS3". Run that and it should remove the Beta to the point of allowing you to install the new version.

Glad to see these finally get into the hands of people who have been waiting for the Intel versions. Looking forward to the benchmarks.

Thanks for the tip on this. I hadn't even noticed that folder and app. I'll keep this in mind when I get my official copy of the suite.

Oh, goodie. Just got a dialogue box from Adobe Photoshop CS3 Extended that says, "Licensing for this product has stopped working..." with additional babble about reinstalling or contacting Adobe.
Asshats.
Remember when software installs used to be so simple?

Is there going to be a universal Photoshop Elements for Mac?

Thanks Philbert, by the time I realized that, the install had already taken place, or the attempt. Somehow, that seems to mess things up. Now I'm waiting for something from Adobe that will clear off any remnants left by the beta. I agree about "remember when installing software was easy". Thanks anyway though.

I am not happy about that because I bought a Studio 8 a few months ago for the upgrade. I called the Adobe customer service, and they said that they cannot help me. I am not willing to pay another money for this CS3. Adobe made a few billions of dollars, not millions... The company does not have a debt.
Why can't I get a free one for a good reason that I bought it recently?

Now my activation for Studio 8, which has worked since I got it, is suddenly invalid. I was working in Flash just an hour ago. Now it's asking me to validate or purchase it. And that's without yet upgrading to the new CS studio.
Coincidence?
When I enter my serial and the serial from the previous version (as Studio 8 was an upgrade) I see the check marks and then it says I need to enter my serial number again...
Is this the activation nightmare that everyone was talking about?

Yes, I had the same problem, I had CS3 trial installed. I deleted all adobe files in my application folder, Illustrator, photoshop etc. and removed the folder "Adobe" in the applications folder and tried again... It went fine...

Adobe Store online has been down for the last three or more hours on Monday 4/16/2007. It always seems that the Adobe online store goes down at the worst time. I've had frequent problems accessing it in early evenings Central Time.
Adobe really needs to get a grip on this and due their maintenance when we are
asleep. :-p
