iDVD will not burn my DVDs, it gets to the point where it starts encoding audio and then freezes (at which point i force quit). any ideas?

Michael:
It would be helpful for us to know what kind of Mac you have, what system you are running and what iLife version you're using?
having said that.....when iDVD starts encoding audio it sometimes looks like it's frozen...in fact, if you pull up the quit apps window it will even say that iDVD is "Not responding", but in truth, it's busy encoding the audio.
I've had the same "problem" only to discover if I just leave it alone, it does finish.
my suggestion is to wait...if you have lots of assets in your movie, be prepared to wait a long time.
For example, I just finished a movie with lots of stuff in it. I started the burn just before I went to bed....it was done in the morning. A similar flix took me 5 hours to burn one day.

i have a 15" mbp, 2.16 ghz intel duo, 2 gb 667 mhz ddr2 sdram, mac OS 10.4.9, iLife '06.
in force quit, it said not responding each time. i'm betting that you are right about waiting, i just got a little anxious because i needed the dvd burned for a closing ceremony this friday and didn't know if it would get done.
thanks for the advice. though, i won't try it again until after i get back to the US in a week or so, just in case.
