I use Handbrake a lot (GB size, 1575 bitrate). Always works. Imports from desktop into iTunes. Manually drags to iPod and auto placement in Movies. Do you see the mp4 file in Movies? Do you get any image on the iPod screen? The iPod has to be set for either TV screen use or iPod screen use.
Do you have sync turned off and disc use turned on? Is this your iPod and your computer or are you connecting to someone else's computer?
With iSquint, do you use defaults or set up yourself? Is auto load to iPod checked?
Since these are home movies, are they DVDs or would you happen to be using iMovie files? What kind of file are you trying to use in iSquint for the iPod?
Gotta ask all the questions. /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Getting only sound is the key for you. You have some incompatible file types or missing plugins. To solve the problem you have to explain what you did from step one and all the way through. Or, click here and use this pretty good FAQ to work through each step on your own.
Start with how the home movies were made. Did you use a videocamera or did you download them or did you rip them from something? What file type were they? Then you have to make sure you have the right programs with all the plugins you need to make it work. So, what program did you first use to play the movie and then what program did you use to convert the movie...and so on for each step along the way.
What you start with determines what you end up with. Did you start with a .dv file, a .vob file, a .mov file or what? Once you try to convert them, you have to use the proper program with the proper plugins to get the file that you want to finish with. HTH /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
