I'm putting together a DVD of photo slideshows of a recent vacation on iDVD 6. I've got some video footage I wanted to use as an autoplay. The footage is widescreen (exactly 16:9) and is treated as such in iMovie. I exported the video as a .dv, and when I play this exported video in Quicktime Player it still plays at the correct size.
But when I insert this video into the autoplay area of my iDVD project, it is converted to 4:3. The iDVD project itself is 16:9, everything about it otherwise (menus, slideshows) shows correctly at 16:9, but this autoplay video plays at 4:3. I've tested by saving the project as a disk image and playing in DVD Player: same result. I can't find any settings in iDVD that pertain to the autoplay movie, except for looping. Is there some other task I need to perform to make this come out correctly?
Thanks for your help! System specs appear in my sig.

OK, I found a solution to my issue, though I didn't really solve it. I saw that if I browse for the same movie within the media browser in iDVD, it preserves the widescreen aspect ratio. That still doesn't explain why iDVD forces everything into 4:3 for imported movies of different shapes, but at least I've got a way around my current problem.
