RE: "but also exactly what they said it would be, and that's a widescreen iPod (6g more or less). iPhone also has Wifi so you can use it on your home network"
Actually to tell you the truth .. the fact that Apple is selling the phone without activation onto a Phone providers network is very very clever. A lot of high end users would be very happy to pay for the latest Ipod and handheld device, use it on their home and work network WiFi and then at their leisure activate the phone or not even activate it if they have a current contract.
I thought it odd that Jobs kept saying it's the nest Ipod we have ever made when it's a bloody phone !... makes sense now .. jobs is very very clever at coming in under the radar with concepts and ideas that everyone misses until it too late for the competition .. After all if you asked any business hey why dont you sell a smart phone to customers BUt dont activate the phone part they would have called you nuts .. but Apple are doing it.
19 Million people interested in Iphone .. ha ha ha thats nearly the whole population of Au buying an Iphone .... go Apple ! (yes I know they wont actually sell 19 million but funny idea)

I may show up to see the crowds but most likely I'll wait until the hoopla dies down and then I'll check it out and ask questions. I doubt, however, I'll be buying one anytime soon as I live in a rural area and the wireless internet access out here is very spotty at best. Perhaps when they come out with a cheaper model that doesn't include internet access I may be interested. Until then I wish Apple well. The success of the iPhone and the iPod help subsidize the Mac which is what is important to me.
