I've tried all the browser apps, but none will download from certain sites, like http://sourceforge.net (click to download a file, the page changes, but nothing happens) Is there a fix for this?
Thnx
Tom

Files won't download at Sourceforge.net

Deleted the last remnants of Speed Download, and recall using the uninstall utility that came with the software, so it should all be gone. However, after restarting IE, it still will not download the stuff at Sourceforge. For example:
http://sourceforge.n...files.php?group[/u]id=7130&release_id=130237
Attempting to download gallery-1.3.3.tar.gz merely shows an empty page. I've been going through this for a very long time, and have used my PC to download in these instances, connecting through a local network to get the file over to the Mac. Not exactly a straight line, you know.
Thanks Rob

Hmm ... that link worked fine in three browsers; I didn't bother to test the rest ... do you use a proxy server or anything else non-standard? Have you tried logging in as another user and seeing if the file will download? That would at least identify the problem as either user-level or system-level...

Well, I have never been a registered member. But to test, I did register with Sourceforge, and attempted to download then. But more of the same??nothing.
No proxies here.
Rob, it must be a system-level problem, because it happens on all 5 browsers I have.
I've tried other tar.gz files on other sites and it works fine. Perhaps it is the extension "...tar.gz?download" extension at Sourceforge? But more likely a system thing, like you mentioned.
