Hi,
Is it possible to upgrade an old PB G3 330 to a G4? Is it a good idea? How much does it cost? How do I do it?
Thanks, DWR

Hi
Do you mean the 333MHz Lombard? If so, than it may be an iffy depending on what you want from it. The only current solution that I know of is the PowerLogix BlueChip LS
Even though that will make your microprocessor tasks a lot faster you must remember a few things that are non-upgradeable. The outdated system bus, graphics accelerator, hard drive bus, RAM bus, and hard drive if you haven't upgraded it. All of these limit the overal performance gain of the upgrade. I'm not saying it isn't worth it, but use that information to determine if you think it to be worth it. I would also consider more RAM if you are looking for a performance bump. We could help you further if you tell us your machine specs and what you want to do with it. The benchmarks are linked at PowerLogix but here is a direct link if you wish.
