And it doesnt handle streaming video or multimedia messaging.

oh really? so when did youtube be considered nonstreaming video? the ipod can handle streaming video fine. it can also stream video from apple's movie trailer site.

The iPods do not STREAM video or audio from the web. They can synch web video or audio that has been downloaded/transferred to iTunes, but not synch in real time.

I think it's pretty obvious that the OP made a typo and actually meant iPhone - seeing as the article is about the iPhone, and the first quote above is from the article and talking about the iPhone.

THese phones aren't alternatives.
They are cheesy and cheap. One makes you download overpriced, tinny sounding music... and all are poorly designed.
Oh yeah, FM IS DEAD! Sure, I listen to it at work but that's because I have no choice in the car because I am not going to pay $12.95 for RADIO.
FM is a bland audio wasteland that plays the same 6 songs all. day. long.
You know what I mean, people! :-) When was the last time you heard ``Umbrella''? 6 seconds ago?
With my luck, the FM reception would be unlistenable in my area.
Truely, there is nothing like the iPhone. Sure, it's $500, but I paid $300 for my Moto V170 two years ago Just to have bluetooth. If I can spend that for bluetooth, a WIFI web-browsing, google-mapping, video-playing, easy-to-use phone for 200 more is a good deal.

Bought an iPhone. Kept it for 2 days. Returned it. Bought an HTC Mogul through Sprint's SERO program. Now I'm a very happy camper =)
