Microsoft’s Ballmer asks investors for patience

Apple is continuing to enjoy their great success with its products and high customer loyalty because they get it. Unlike Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmers idiotic comments and the company he represents, Microsoft is so far out of touch with consumers. I have been a Microsoft user for over 10 years and the culmination of my experiences boil down to frustration, unnecessary complexity, wasted down time, and low return on its expensive products. I have wasted time and money on Microsofts terribly executed computer software, Windows Mobile phones, and its XBOX 360 gaming console. Microsofts inability to get its game on has resulted in a large number of people to make the switch to Apple Macintosh products because they simply work well. I dont believe I have to identify all the positive characteristic about Apple products because most people already know why its products are far superior to Microsoft.
All of Microsofts products have the characteristics of crashing, not being user friendly, and expensive. As one example, I own a XBOX 360 and a PS3. Microsoft brags that the XBOX 360 is a superior gaming console to the PS3. Microsoft in its wisdom failed to include a Wi-Fi connection, high-definition DVD player, adequate HD space, and locked-down the console for a true multi-media experience. By the time a consumer purchases all the Microsoft accessories that are already included in the PS3, the XBOX 360 is much more expensive and an ugly clunky mess. Not to mention, the XBOX 360 is so loud and frequently overheats. What the heck was Microsoft thinking?
Like hundreds of thousands of consumers I purchased an iPhone this past weekend. Fortunately, for me I didnt have to wait in a long line (probably due to good timing) and I was up and running in a very short period of time. The Apple Store that I wend to took care of its customers by offering them drinks, snacks
I am making a conscious effort to never purchase a lousy Microsoft product in the future. I dont consider myself as a Mac geek, but as an average consumer who values well executed technology for my hard earned money.

50B in one year. Wow, that's amazingly high for any company.
However..., now that Apple's 3rd quarter results are in and have stated their own 4th quarter estimates,
Apple expects to have a 22Billion+ year themselves... and thats with 1/4 the products, limited
enterprise penetration, no game division and only 5 to 6% of the PC market !! ... 22Billion !!
Plus, their market cap (127Billion) just passed HPs at 125B.
Be patient (Balmer says to investors)...?
I say, Redmond, you better start lookin' behind you. Apple's comin' up fast on your sorry ass. /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif ... 22 Billion ! ...

Thats Microsoft Speak for "we know we are producing rubbish products and we know you are all about to cash us in... but give us time to fix the rubbish and make more rubbish that promises the earth and delivers nothing."
A little over a year ago Apple and Microsoft shares were approximately even (around $30). Today Microsoft $30, Apple $146.... doh! How sweet this is...

Well that's their problem; They haven't been allocating enough innovation /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

"We are hell bent..." thanks Ballmer.
The problem with M$ is that they're getting to the point where they want to expand, and are using both money and force to do so.
Xbox for example... they're losing billions on it and keep promoting it as if it's a big success (personally I'm glad to see Nintendo has come back to the pole position with both the Wii and the DS).
Zune...go home!! It's just not selling. M$ has spend hundreds of millions making professional writers run blogs and sites that proclaim to be rumor sites and news sites run by fans, but reek of having too much inside knowledge. Things like:
"Microsoft didn't want us to leek this information because Apple would probably copy, but Microsoft is working on a smaller Zune similar to the Nano, here's pictures of all the prototypes and the people working on it... big smiling photo's [taken with a big fat professional camera if you check the metadata]"... sure it's a leek, or is it a professional photographer being told to take high quality photo's?
That weird desk thing that copied the iPhone's touch technology and cost 30 grand or something? Weird...

I am not a Microsoft fan, but I wouldn't count Microsoft out. As I see it, Microsoft's biggest problems are it puts business over consumer wishes (e.g. DRM laden Vista), and it thinks it has to be the Lord of all markets (e.g. search).
Apple's strength is it is willing to concede areas to certain companies in order to form partnerships, which ultimately make its own products better. In addition, it truly does focus on making products that consumers like as opposed into being talked into liking. It is cool that Google and Microsoft are enemies, as that truly benefits Mac users.
In my view, however, Microsoft has done a fair job with the X-Box, and the new version of Office for Windows is a big improvement over what us Mac users are stuck with. Of course, Nintendo has done an even better job, and Sony actually has the more powerful machine.

Microsoft is famous for that. When Windows first came out it posted to online forums knocking the Mac OS. More recently, it gave some high profile bloggers free laptops with Vista on them.

Do you know anything about Steve Ballmer, or are you just talking out of your poop chute?

Vista is a bad copy of Tiger
Zune is an awesome failure
XBox 360 is FUBAR
I hope there enterprise division is working out.
Microsoft is still making money like the Titanic was still crushing ice after it first hit the iceberg.
Ballmer has lost it.
