Hello!
I have three Macs - a 400 mhz PowerMac G4 (running 10.4.10, 10.3.9, and 9.2.2), a 15" PowerBook G4 (running 10.4.10), and a 400mhz iMac DVSE (running 10.3.9 and 9.2.2) - but only the Powerbook and G4 have airport cards! I'd like to have one of them share a wireless connection with the iMac, but unfortunately, I can't get OS X's internet sharing feature to work with OS 9, or work properly with the iMac under OS X. However, I have a D-Link WBR 2310 wireless router, and an existing wireless network broadcast from a netgear router a few rooms away.
In order to allow all three computers to connect to our network, and allow a faster LAN connection between them, I'd like to set up a network as follows:
WAN (DSL modem) > Netgear router running WIFI with WEP protection
WIFI internet connection (from Netgear router) > D-Link router > G4, Powerbook, iMac via the D-link's LAN ports.
Basically, I want to use the D-Link router to create a small, LAN sub-network with my three Macs, then use the router to share the existing WIFI internet connection with the three macs on this local, wired LAN (and thus not using the built-in cards on the PB and G4). Is this possible? How could I create such a network? I'm a networking newbie, so bear with me.
Thanks,
-Dan

Depending of where or not the D-Link router supports bridging. Some routers will support bridging that will allow you to essentially extend your network using the WiFi network. There are devices that allow such things, so if the D-Link does not support it, then you can get a device that will. You will have to look in the D-Link manual. It does not seem like it has that ability from a brief look at the manual.
