Hey everybody,
I thought I would post in here. I am looking to buy some creativity software to make posters and greeting cards on my macbook. I have ditched my PC which I use to have The Print Shop on. (The Print Shop I had was rather slow despite my computer more than meeting its recommended specifications, it was the latest version of the Print Shop but I cannot remember what version it was off the top of my head.)
Two programs I have seen on mac seem to be Print Explosion 3.0 and The Print Shop 2.0 for Mac. Both seem to get pretty good reviews from what I have seen, but I would like to hear what you have to say. What works good? Is one better quality than the other? Is there any other software better than this? How would they work on an entry-level MacBook (1.87ghz, 512mb Ram, DVD/CD-RW)?
Thanks in advance,
Byrnzi

I also have iWork, which makes very nice posters, but is useless to me for making cards.

I've been using Swift Publisher from BeLight Software and have enjoyed it. I've not made any cards, but I have used it for many brochures, flyers, and such, and it is very simple to use, with lots of good templates that are easily customizable.

While it might not be exactly what you are after, keep in mind that iPhoto can do cards. Now, they are cards that you must buy order from Apple (at least I don't know if you can print it yourself or not...never tried/played with it).

I want to print them myself, I'm certain apple prints and delivers professional cards, but I don't want to deal with a third party.
iPhoto can print cards. However, they must be in the dimensions of 5x7 in and I want them full half-fold cards. (8.5x11 in folded in half, I bought card paper.)
I have tried everything in my power to change their default size, but nothing works. I finally decided to convert it into a pdf, and try printing each side separately, but it was a headache.
I will check out that swift program that was mentioned.

I got a copy of Swift Publisher by BeLight like mentioned above. After I created a custom template to match the card paper I owned, I had no problem.
The software is intuitive, easy to use, and has lots of features. I certainly don't regret the purchase.
