Pages now features a word-processing mode in addition to a page-layout one. Theres also a contextual format bar and a change-tracking for looking at revisions. The application features 140 included templates.

That's the main reason I never bought the product. I'll have to check it out now.

Editors: any word on whether the new Pages will now flow long footnotes onto a second page?

That great gasp I heard was about a million Mac users who have been dreaming of change-tracking for eons! This is great news!

"Spredshet"??? Where are the editors?!?!
But regardless, I'm happy about the new iMacs. And I'm glad for all the .Mac users.
---UPDATE---
OK, it's fixed. Thanks, people...

Will the new Pages import WordPerfect documents?
Will it import/export OpenOffice (ODF) documents?

With these enhancements and the addition of Numbers, iWork seems to be maturing into a credible alternative to Office.

No, there is no upgrade path - you will have to pay the full price of $79.

As the person who oversaw the creation of Open Financial Exchange years ago while I was at Intuit, I almost did a double take when I saw that Apple was supporting it in Numbers. This an XML format for the exchange of Banking transactions, Brokerage transactions, and a variety of others that is supported by approximately 3500 financial institutions.
Nice job!

So I take it Numbers could be enterprise-worthy?

To me this is the biggest plus. This coupled with Time Machine in Leopard will seal the deal for me. /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Goodbye and good riddance to Microcr*p Office. They can release it in hell for all I care now. 99% of people won't even blink to Office demise.
