This weekend, I updated to the new iLife. In the process, iPhoto updated my photos (on my internal drive) to work with '08. Fine. Now when I try to sync my photos to my iPod, it says there is nothing in the library. Can't seem to find it. Anyone else find this?
Now, to add intrigue, I also have my photos on an external drive. I have not updated these photos to work with '08. When I go to update my iPod, I can navigate to the drive on the external, but my "rolls" and/or "albums" do not show up -- only the listing where I can choose "modified" and/or "Originals. I'd really like to have my organization transfer to the iPod. What am I doing wrong? Or, how can I get my "albums" and/or "rolls" to show up?
Don't want to update the photos on the external until I find out what is happening regarding the iPod not finding the photos that were updated. Anybody?

Oh, I almost forgot -- iTunes has been shutting down during the update process -- just closes, and then asks if I want to reopen. I reopen, updating starts again, then shutdown. Happens several times, then for some reason, the update completes successfully. I have repaired permissions, and all the normal investigative stuff. Any ideas there?
Thanks in advance for any help!

Can't believe I am the only one to have this problem! When I choose the iPhoto library from within the iTunes iPod preferences, the library on my internal shows up, and shows all the albums, etc., but when I tell it to sync, I am told the "iPod cannot be synced. The required file cannot be found". I can open iPhoto and see my photos just fine, so that is not the problem. Just don't know where to go from here.
Anybody??

O.K.,reporting back in case someone else has the problem later on. Over the weekend, I tried multiple things. First, I realized that when I moved my main library to my external, I renamed the library on the internal to iPhoto Library2. Thinking that was the issue, I changed it back to iPhoto Library. That did not work. So, I moved the library out to the desktop, let iPhoto create a new, empty library, and then imported a couple of "events" into it. That seemed to work. So, I laboriously exported all the "events" and then imported them into the new library. No go! Wonder why a couple of events would work, but not all???? Anyway, after much pondering, I decided that it could not hurt to re-install iLife '08 in its entirety. So, I did. That worked! iTunes immediately "saw" my library and updated the iPod. In the meantime I have updated the files on the external, but have not tried to sync them with the iPod. Will do so just to see what happens, but that is not really important to me, as I keep the most recent two years on the internal and sync to that.
Thanks for reading!
