I have recently bought a 1 gig shuffle to listen to when I work out. I already have a generation 2 20 gig which is obviously what I use in correlation with Itunes. What I am wondering is if it is possible to set up a second itunes library on my same account on xp. I know that I can just create a second account on xp and utilize it that way but I would prefer to just have individual itunes set up for both ipods on the one xp account. Thanks for all your help,
Candace

I know that is possible but without unassigning a boat load of the content from what has been put on for the 20 gig I dont know how I can only manage and update the shuffle. Because obviously if I attempt to update the shuffle on the itunes I have set up itunes is going to attempt to upload all the content to the shuffle which won't be possible. Even if there is a trick that I can utilize so that only a certain playlist within the same itunes account gets uploaded when I connect the shuffle that would be great.

If you have organized your music library using playlists then managing multiple iPods of varying capacities is quite easy. You can set up syncing preferences for each iPod indicating which playlists a given iPod syncs with instead of having them sync to your entire music library. Using multiple libraries is unnecessary and tedious.

Or you can conintue to sync the whole library to the larger capacity iPod as is but use the "manual" playlist snyc function for the iPod Shuffle. You will likely have to go into "manual" mode anyway if you have more music in iTunes than capacity on the Shuffle.
So, I would say use the same iTunes library and create a playlist for the Shuffle and then set the Shuffle's settings to just sync that playlist.
