new imacs and os 9

do the new imacs run and support classic and os9?
I notice its not installed... can i install and run it on this system?

No. Intel Macs cannot use OS 9.

There is a big difference between native (yes, native) support for OS 9 on the old PowerMacs and running SheepSaver on an Intel Mac. For one thing, it's emulated. That means it's slow -- the authors themselves admit it's about 1/8th the speed it would be native. For another, you don't get full hardware support, and if you have any apps that need the Velocity Engine, well, that's not supported either.
Don't get me wrong; SheepSaver is a tremendous accomplishment. But it's not the same thing as having OS 9 supported by Apple on the Intel Macs.
