In the meantime, it's better to get the product out, as it will certainly appeal to those who like the iPhone but don't like AT&T, as well as those with smaller music and video collections.

The touch isn't just for people who don't like AT&T, but for people who also cannot get AT&T because of location. People in the boonies (like me) don't have AT&T service which stinks (or any other GSM network - just all CDamnNA). I'm about ready to uproot my family and move to a major metropolitan in order to get an iPhone /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif Ok, maybe not, but in the meantime I may just have to settle for an iPod Touch and use it as a limited PDA. This also stinks cause I like the simplicity of carrying just one device (I have a smartphone).

I found that actually trying one out at the Apple Store this weekend helped me resist. I was NOT that impressed with the screen and did not really like the on screen keyboard.

My experience was just the opposite. I was extremely impressed after playing around with one at Best Buy. It was extremely fast, the keyboard function was much easier to use then I expected, the screen was beautiful, it was very slim, and the functionality was, well Apple-like, that is simply top-notch. Hopefully I can hold off, but I don't know if I can!

I guess I'm just going to have to go to an Apple store and iTouch one.... /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I'd say that's a bit too definitive. If you don't plan on watching a lot of video, and you're not interested in the (very cool) WiFi/Web features, then sure. But if either of these things are something you want to do, the touch might just be more appealing.

I agree. I want to watch video on a bigger screen and surf the web. Can't surf on the 3g, and the video is too small. I've waited years for the iTouch...I can wait a little longer for Apple to fix the bugs.
