Apple has posted details on how early adopters of its iPhone can claim their $100 store credit. The iPhone must be activated with AT&T and it had to be purchased before August 22 in order to be eligible for the credit. more

The process worked flawlessly. Less than a second after I clicked on the final enter button, the SMS confirmation arrived on my iPhone. I then entered the confirmation code in Safari, printed out a copy of my credit from Safari, saved a version of the credit w/barcodes as a PDF, and emailed it to myself. When I opened the email on my iPhone and viewed the PDF it displayed the barcodes so sharply, I wonder if the Apple Store scanners will be able to scan from the screen, vice from the paper printout?

I've already spent the credits for our two iPhones on the Apple Store Online. It was very easy! New MBP here I come /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

1) worked flawlessly
2) having given two of our four iPhones to two of our daughters, I was hoping it would be receipt based.... now I have to pry those rebates from their fingers.... /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

"We're sorry, but we can't locate a record of your iPhone"
Maybe because the first one I bought (on June 29) was defective and had to be replaced on June 30. Disappointing

so...those of us that subsequently sold on ebay are screwed! Why should the auction winner get the rebate, I purchased it from Apple!

Took less than a minute. I was concerned before Apple posted the details because 1) I bought my iPhone at an AT&T store and 2) can't find the receipt for the life of me. Looks like Leopard is gonna cost me $29 + tax next month.

My iPhone, which was a wedding gift from my wife, was stolen on our wedding night, pre-activation. So yes, I will be "whining".

http://www.apple.com...ne/storecredit/
it clearly says "iPHONE OWNERS"
if you sold it on ebay you no longer are the owner.

If your phone was stolen, then you either had insurance or chose not to get it based on your needs, cash, etc. Assuming you filed a claim, you have already been compensated for the loss, and either bought a new one, or bought something else. Or had a high enough deductible that you got nada - that would be my situation, but I picked a high deductible.

Yes, a high deductable screwed me over. My father took the iPhone from me just before the wedding, we went to get it the next day and saw his car was broken into. Do you think I have a chance?
