If style is a prime consideration and you plan to let the camera do all the exposure and composition work, the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T100 is a capable enough shooter in a slick package. Those who care more about what’s under the hood, however, can find a lot more camera for the money. more

Well, now I don't know who to believe. This review directly contradicts the review by CNet, which says this is an excellent camera. I would leave it to a matter of opinion, but someone here is plain wrong.
"In CNET Labs' tests, the DSC-T100 performed exceptionally well." and "the DSC-T100 takes great-looking photos with plenty of detail. Pictures stay sharp and free of noise as high as ISO 400."

I'm tempted to believe this article. I purchased the Sony W80 earlier this summer. I was looking for an inexpensive point and shoot that would easily fit in my pocket for those occasions you don't want to lug around the DSLR. The camera itself is nice, but I have to admit the quality of the images is poor overall. The noise is high. There are just way to many megapixels for the size of the sensor. I can't say how that translates to this particular Sony camera, but the quality of the images coming from the newer Sony cameras seem to be lower than previous generations, albeit they advertise higher pixel counts.

Believe the CNET review. I bought this camera and have not been disappointed...other than the fact that I paid about $75 more than what it's selling for now.
But talk about being slow to the game...this review is just appearing today for a product that's already been discontinued! Its replacement is the DSC-T200. Specs are nearly identical, but the 200 replaces the buttons on the back with LCD touchscreen controls.

I rely on Macworld's advice for most everything, but I've got to say that on this one... Macworld's just plain off. I mean, look at this:
CNet
Digital Trends
Amazon
DP Review
And I can say first-hand that this camera is never given the prop's it deserves for its SUPERB audio-capture capabilities while recording. Seriously, compared to every other camera (not camcorder) I've heard, this one is tops by far. I constantly get asked why my concert footage sounds so great when I upload to YouTube. For example, check out Ryan Adams or Wilco:
Berklie.com on YouTube
So... thanks for the review, but it's just not accurate in my (or the above link's) opinion. Keep up the great work!
