Apple Product of the Year: Any question? The iPhone.
Third-Party Hardware of the Year: Nikon D3. Breakthrough full frame performance in terms of speed, superb high ISO performance, and fast, accurate autofocus. It's the NIkon we've been waiting for years to have!

For 2007:
Best Apple Product: iPhone
Best 3rd-Party Hardware: Elgato EyeTV 250
Best 3rd-Party Software: Adobe CS3
Best Mac Gem: VisualHub
This is the BEST! Super fast and before I bought this, I had 8 converters, trying to find one that was fast, and could convert to the Sony PSP, WITH custom names! Its Great!
Man great stuff this year

Must we really vote for Apple Product of the Year?
well, if i absolutely must: it's the iPhone (surprised?) lol
as for Third-Party Hardware of the Year i really don't have a choice. but i do have a "negative vote" for Epson printers (i had a bit of a fuss with one this year, and both printer and customer support were awful).
Third-Party Software of the Year: it's not 3rdParty, it's Apple, and it's iPhoto '08! iPhoto was already the best in my book. but iPhoto '08 just blew my mind.
Mac Gem of the Year: QuickSilver! it's not new, but it's been updated this year! that counts right? /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Apple Product:
- hardware: iPhone
- software: Motion 3 (or Final Cut Studio)
3rd Party Software: Painter X
Runner-Up: Panic Coda
Gem: CSSEdit 2.5
Runner-up: Pixelmator
There need to be more categories. A lot more. The Mac software scene has totally blossomed over the past couple years, both in quantity and quality of apps out there.
