Sorry about the cross posting, but I got no response over in "Mac 911".
I have to say, with the price of the Mac Pro you'd think you'd get a decent keyboard in the deal. This thing is awful.
I need to find a mac-dedicated keyboard with an ergonomic design, as I'm finding that the long keystroke, hard "bottoming out" feel, sticky keys and other design problems are causing accuracy and chronic pain problems. I'm on this thing many hours a day.
Does anybody have any suggestions?
Thanks in advance...

You posted that message 7 hours ago, in the middle of the night in the U.S.; I'm not surprised it didn't get much of a response yet. In any case, please don't cross-post the same message in multiple forums. I've deleted the other one and left this one here, as this is the appropriate forum.
As for keyboards, KeyOvation has a Mac-compatible version of their Goldtouch ergonomic keyboard.

Here are several ergonomic keyboards for the Macintosh:
Datadesk's SmartBoard

Adesso Intellimedia Pro MAC Ergonomic Keyboard

Kinesis Advantage USB

The Kinesis is by far the best, but it is also by far the most expensive.

Thanks, Randy.
I'm very interested in the Kinesis, but it seems to lack "hotkeys" for things like opening the CD/DVD player, which on the Mac Pro is the only way that I can find to get it open. Also, I'm going to be doing a a lot of video editing...is there anything I should be looking out for in a keyboard if I use Final cut Pro?

You can actually buy special keyboard covers for working with Final Cut Pro, such as these:

The last time that I reviewed a Kinesis keyboard, the keyboard had internal memory and was programmable. I'm not sure if you can specifically program it to open and close your CD/DVD player, but my guess is that you can. You should ask Kinesis about this.
Thanks, Randy.

I've heard the Goldtouch is very poorly made and there have been a lot of complaints about it falling apart. I'd appreciate it if anybody else had some more suggestions. This is for desktop use, so size isn't a problem.

For what it's worth, I reviewed the Mac version of the Goldtouch, which is a new model, and had no problems with build quality over a few months of testing.

If you hold down the F12 key on any keyboard, it should open/eject your Mac's optical drive (or close the drive if it's open).
