Though an apparent jab at Microsoft Vista, there is a Leopard single-user client version (129), a client family pack (199), a 10-user server version (499), and an unlimited server version (999) as the article points out -- making original quote seem like a contradiction. However, unlike MS, all consumers (and many small businesses) can use the same client version without wondering whether they will have enough features.
Not a contradiction. Vista is a client OS - Server 2003 is a server OS.
SO:
For Vista's 6 client OS versions, we get two ways of purchasing OS X Client: single pack or 5-pack (not different versions - just different licenses, one's for legal use on 5 machines).
For Server 2003's at least 3 versions (I know of at least Standard, Enterprise and Web, there are likely more) we get 2 versions of OS X Server: limited user and unlimited user.
The family pack is a discounted 5 license pack, nothing more. Server products on the other hand should be compared to the server product on the Windows side, not to the client (Vista).
