So true...
And while we are at writing helpers, why can't Apple have a better summarize feature? Its current (and getting older and older) version is appalling. I remember Glucose Software had a very good and impressive summarizer back in the days of Mac OS 9. Maybe Apple should try to buy the software or licence to it, it they can find it...

Although I may come to appreciate the new application-window style, from what I've seen of the semitransparent menu-bar and reflective Dock, one of the first things Ill be doing with my Leopard installations is figuring out how to make the menu bar white and the Dock non-reflective.

I agree wholeheartedly about the menu bar. Depending on the background image and menus displayed, the transparency can really be a problem. I hope Non-Transparent Menu Bar is still working with the shipping version of Mac OS X 10.5.
However, I really like the new look of windows: not only we get back a somewhat unique style of windows, which I think is much cleaner by the way, but we also get back, at long last, a true visual differentiation of the active window! It was long overdue and a real step back from Mac OS 9.

My question is, why isn't Gmail supported?

I'm 100% behind you on the sad direction the dock is going.
According to Apple road signs will be SOOOOOOOO much better if they weren't bold, graphic and flat but instead were photos, inclined at an angle and served up on a reflective silver platter.
But then I'm just an ignorant designer. What would I know compared to the Powerpoint jockeys calling the shots these days.

If you read the fine print you see that we were asked to pick from among the 300+ features touted by Apple. So that means rather than picking just Time Machine or iChat, you pick sub-features within those features. Dan and Jason chose different Time Machine elements.

Jason Snell and Dan Frakes BOTH picked Time Machine as their number one pick! Someone needs to be disqualified for picking something that was already taken!

They picked different features in Time Machine, actually. We used the feature list on Apple's site and both Backup Everything and Go Back in Time are listed as separate features.
Chris is faster with a keyboard than me apparently.
But I am much faster than Rob.

Please check the rules -- we were picking individual features from the list of 300, not the top-level technology. So while Jason picked Time Machine - Backup Everything, Dan F. chose Time Machine - Go Back in Time.
Check Apple's 300 features page, and you'll see that those are indeed two separate entries.

No, I'm not familiar with the draft, which is why I had so much trouble parsing this. Last I checked the Jets constitute a singular team--or do Jets fans have multiple other favorite teams they like to boo?
